I.
ACADEMIC (Study)
The
Courses are designed on a basic monthly cycle. The study
programs include; four days per week, five hours of
classes per day, three hours of study hall, and a daily
chapel service. Exams are given during one week each
month on the subjects studied. Time is given for study
and completion of assignments. The Bible is the text,
classes are designed for the student to “know,
grow, and show”. (Study it, apply it, share it)
II.
SOCIAL (Christian life)
All students stay on the campus of the Bible Institute
from Monday through Friday. Students who are unable
to go home on the weekend, or do not have a designated
weekend ministry assignment by Word of Life remain on
campus during the weekend.
We endeavor to maintain an positive environment on the
Bible Institute campus with a disciplined schedule for
classes, gym, study hall, and work hours. This makes
the WOLBI Argentina a laboratory which the Lord has
used for many years to change the lives of thousands
of young people. In this environment, the student learns
to submit to authorities, to depend upon God, and to
seek God daily by maintaining a Quiet Time, (WOL personal
devotional diary). Students are encouraged to obey God’s
Word, seek God’s will, accept the challenge to
serve Him, resolve personal conflicts, and to remain
faithful in times of trial.
A Word of Life missionary is designated to each student
as a personal counselor, (women counsel women, men counsel
men). The counselors help develop specific areas of
Christian Character, assist with needs for correction,
and encourage ongoing Christian growth toward spiritual
maturity.
All of the elements of the program make the Word of
Life Bible Institute a place where God’s Word
is not only taught but also a place where the heart,
mind, and will can be molded in the lives of those whose
desire is to become an effective servant of God.
III.
FUNCTIONAL (Ministry)
Our students are not only involved in academic exercises
in God’s Word, they are also encouraged to make
application of its truths in their life, therefore being
transformed by it. Then, we provide opportunities for
our students to serve the Lord by serving others. We
offer practical training designed to help the student
develop the confidence necessary to become effective
in work within the local church, sharing the gospel
in one-on-one evangelism, discipleship, teaching the
Bible, preaching, and open air evangelism.
Within
the area of ministry we have 3 areas of emphasis:
- A.
Weekend Ministries
- B.
Special Activities of WOL
- C.
Summer Camp Ministry
A. WEEKEND MINISTRIES
The
students are given the responsibility of involvement
in a ministry each weekend of the year. The majority
travel to local churches and participate in ministries
under the supervision and authority of local church
leadership. Most foreign students and those from the
interior of Argentina remain on the WOLBI campus. On
Campus Bible Institute students participate in scheduled
weekend programs; Bible Club, Sunday School, Sunday
night services as well as sports activities and work
assignments. Also, with Word of Life’s bus and
other vehicles, some students are able to go out in
groups to witness and to assist with the evangelistic
campaigns of local churches. Each student must fill
out a weekend ministry report, which is reviewed and
signed by his pastor, leader or ministry supervisor
and turned to to the WOLBI Student Ministries coordinator.
B.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES FOR WOL
WOLBI
students will also be involved in activities of the
WOL ministry in Argentina with the purpose of preaching
the Gospel to large numbers of people through Sports
Marathons, Family-Day Picnics, and Evangelistic Rallies
WOLBI
will also select a number of students for our music
ministry; choir, ensemble, and soloists. Early in the
year they will prepare and practice for the opportunities
to participate in tours and special presentations. This
has been a wonderful method of ministry with great results
in salvation and significant encouragement for the body
of Christ.
Approximately
forty students will be selected for involvement in a
very fruitful ministry that we refer to as “The
Children’s Show”. These presentations utilize
costumes, drama, and music to reach children and families
with the powerful gospel message.
C.
SUMMER CAMP MINISTRY
Each
student is required to complete a summer camp ministry
of two months as a part of the WOLBI school year.
Two
hundred students will form the summer staff for the
youth camp in Argentina. Others may be involved in the
summer staff at Word of Life Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay
and Paraguay. A number of students will be selected
to serve the Lord in the south of Argentina at the Word
of Life Hotel, “Pichi Traful” located in
the National Park, “Nahuel Huapi”, in the
Andes Montains.
With the purpose of molding the heart and character
of the true servant of the Lord, in every ministry and
during all the months of the year, the student is supervised,
encouraged, and evaluated by pastors, leaders, and a
Word of Life missionary.
Final
Words From the Director of the
Word Of Life Bible Institute
Argentina
Today in the 21ST century, the church and the world,
more than ever, need young people who can properly handle
the Word of God. We need young people who will do their
utmost to present themselves to God as a “…
workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing
the Word of Truth”. (II Tim. 2:15).
I think that the challenge to study God’s Word
and to be such a servant of the Almighty is the greatest
thing in the earthly life of the believer. For this
reason, the Word of Life staff; missionaries and professors,
work with great conviction toward this goal: “That
all young people that dedicate at least one year to
study God’s Word in our Bible Institute will never
regret having made that choice”.
Dan
Nuesch
Bible Institute Director
Word of Life Argentina
Each
year almost 400 people from 28 countries around the
world came to study in our Bible Institute to prepare
to serve God and win the world for Christ
